Help & support
Play a quick Today’s Hole in your browser, or make your own holes in the refreshed iPhone and iPad app.
Playing a hole
Start on the ball and draw around the ink toward the cup. Lift to land, then start your next shot from the ball’s new position. The walls fade while you draw in Daily, so take a moment to plan your route.
In your browser
Use a finger or mouse. Drag away from the ball to move the paper. With two fingers, pinch to zoom and twist to turn. With a mouse, scroll over the paper to zoom. The +, −, Turn, and Fit paper buttons work between shots; Fit paper shows the entire hole again.
Drawing a shot needs a touch screen or pointing device. Keyboard-only shot drawing is not currently supported. You can scroll the page by starting outside the playing area.
On iPhone and iPad
Drag from the ball to shoot, or elsewhere to move the paper. Use two fingers to zoom and turn. How to Play on Home has short, playable lessons. The difficulty chooser applies to courses, Practice, and your own holes; Daily always uses Medium. Kid keeps the walls visible.
Paper movement pauses while a shot is in progress. When you’re zoomed in, reaching the visible edge ends your shot; move the paper before the next one.
Create your own hole in the app
- Open My Holes → New hole. Choose Draw a course, or Use a picture to import a photo, take a picture, or scan a drawing on supported devices.
- For a photo, frame the picture first. In the editor, use Path to draw a playable route from the ball to the flag. Use Erase to narrow or remove part of that route. Scanned drawings can use their ink as walls.
- Draw with your finger or Apple Pencil on iPad. Pinch with two fingers to zoom, and drag with two fingers to move around. Open Path’s options to change its width.
- Choose Ball & flag to reposition the markers. They stay put while you’re painting. Undo and Redo help you refine the route.
- Tap Try hole to play it at your selected difficulty, then return to editing. If the route is blocked, the editor explains what needs attention.
- Your hole saves on this device. Tap Done to return to My Holes, where you can Play, Edit, or choose Submit for Daily. The trash action asks you to confirm before deleting.
If you see a save error, keep the editor open and retry. Importing a picture or saving a hole does not upload it.
Today’s Hole
Your first completed round counts toward the community comparison. Replays can improve your personal best without adding another community result. Sharing sends your first score and a link to that date’s hole.
A new Daily needs an internet connection. If the connection drops after the hole has loaded, you can finish it; a saved first score retries when you reconnect. In the browser, wait for the scorecard’s saved/sending status before closing the page. Reloading a browser page offline may not reopen the hole; the iOS app can reuse a previously downloaded Daily.
Scores are local to each browser or app installation. They do not sync between the website and the iOS app. If today’s challenge is unavailable, try again later; the app may hide Today’s Hole until one is available.
Your holes and progress
My Holes, ball achievements, course progress, and Daily history are saved on your device. Browser scores are saved in that browser. Deleting the app or clearing site data can remove local progress. There is no Doodle Golf account or cross-device sync.
Deleting a local hole does not withdraw an already submitted copy. Contact us if you want submitted artwork removed.
